Importing Trades via CSV (Deribit)
Importing Trades via CSV (Deribit)
Deribit is supported in TraderNest through CSV import. As a leading crypto options and futures exchange, Deribit provides detailed trade exports that TraderNest can parse and import. CSV import is available on all plans, including Free.
Export Your Trades from Deribit
Log In to Deribit
Go to deribit.com and log in to your account.
Navigate to Transaction Log
From the main menu, go to Account > Transaction Log (or My Account > Transaction History, depending on the Deribit interface version). This page shows your complete transaction history including trades, settlements, and funding.
Set Filters
Before exporting, filter the data to show what you need:
- Type — Select "Trade" to show only trade transactions (not deposits, withdrawals, or settlements).
- Currency — Select the currency you want to export (BTC, ETH, or all).
- Date range — Set the start and end dates for the trades you want to import.
Export as CSV
Click the "Download CSV" or "Export" button. Deribit will generate a CSV file with your filtered trade data. Save the file to your computer.
Import into TraderNest
Open the Import Page
In TraderNest, go to the Trades page and click "Import".
Select Deribit
Choose Deribit from the list of import sources. This ensures TraderNest uses the correct parser for Deribit's CSV format.
Upload Your CSV File
Select or drag and drop your Deribit CSV file. TraderNest will parse the file and display a preview of the trades found.
Review and Confirm
Verify that the trade preview shows the correct data — including instruments, trade directions, sizes, and P&L. Click "Import" to add the trades to your TraderNest account.
Which Deribit Export Format to Use
Deribit may offer multiple export formats or options. For TraderNest, use the trade log or transaction log filtered to trades. This format includes the essential columns: trade ID, instrument, direction, amount, price, and timestamp.
Avoid exporting the full ledger (which includes settlements, funding, and other non-trade transactions) unless you have filtered it down to trades only. Non-trade entries may cause parsing issues.
Common Issues
- Mixed transaction types — If your export includes settlements, funding payments, or delivery transactions alongside trades, TraderNest may not parse them correctly. Re-export with the filter set to "Trade" only.
- Options vs futures — TraderNest primarily imports futures (perpetual and expiry) trades. If your export includes options trades, they may be skipped or parsed differently.
- Currency mismatch — Deribit settles in crypto (BTC or ETH). TraderNest will convert P&L to your display currency based on the exchange rate at the time of the trade.
- Duplicate trades — Re-importing the same CSV will not create duplicates. TraderNest deduplicates based on trade IDs and timestamps.
