TraderNest (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the TraderNest platform, accessible via the TraderNest website and application (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data when you use TraderNest, and describes your rights regarding your data. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Who We Are
TraderNest is a cloud-based journaling and analytics platform designed to help traders analyze their trading behavior, performance, discipline, and decision-making using structured data and AI-powered insights. TraderNest does not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or trading signals.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Personal Information
We may collect the following personal information when you create an account or use the Service:
- Email address
- Password (securely hashed using Argon2id algorithm)
- Time zone, language, and currency preferences
- Subscription and billing status
- Communication preferences
Payment information is processed by Stripe. TraderNest does not store or have access to your full payment card details.
2.2 Trading and Usage Data
When you use TraderNest, we collect data you voluntarily provide, including:
- Trade details such as entry, exit, position size, risk, and outcome
- Strategy rules and compliance data
- Emotional and behavioral inputs related to trades
- Notes, reviews, ratings, and screenshots you upload
- Aggregated performance metrics and statistics
All trading and journal data remains private by default.
2.3 Exchange API Data
If you connect your exchange account via API (such as MEXC), we store your API credentials in encrypted form to sync your trades automatically. We only request read-only access and never have the ability to execute trades or withdraw funds on your behalf.
2.4 Automatically Collected Data
We automatically collect limited technical information to ensure proper functioning of the Service, including:
- IP address
- Device type and browser information
- Log data and usage patterns
- Cookies and similar technologies
2.5 Analytics and Event Data
To improve our platform and understand how users interact with TraderNest, we collect minimal event data including:
- Feature usage events (e.g., when you create a trade, strategy, or generate insights)
- Authentication events (login, logout, password changes)
- Onboarding milestone completions
Important: We do not store financial amounts, prices, leverage, or any sensitive trading data in analytics events. Event metadata is strictly limited to feature names, action types, and timestamps.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the TraderNest platform
- Analyze trading behavior and generate dashboards and insights
- Improve product functionality and user experience
- Communicate with you regarding your account, updates, or support requests
- Process subscriptions and manage billing
- Ensure security and prevent misuse of the platform
- Verify your email address during registration
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or trading data to third parties.
4. AI and Automated Analysis
TraderNest uses AI-powered systems (including OpenAI and Google AI services) to analyze user-provided data and generate insights, summaries, and coaching feedback. These systems operate only on data you provide and are designed to support reflection and evaluation. They do not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or predictions.
5. Data Visibility and Sharing
5.1 Private by Default
Your trading and journal data is private by default and is never publicly visible.
5.2 Teams and Communities
If you are part of a team or community within TraderNest:
- Team owners may view aggregated performance data of team members
- Only percentage-based or relative metrics are shared by default
- Absolute monetary values are not shared unless explicitly enabled by you
TraderNest does not share individual user data outside of the platform without consent, except where required by law.
6. Admin Support Access
Our authorized support personnel may access your account data when necessary to:
- Resolve customer support requests and troubleshoot technical issues
- Investigate potential security incidents or abuse
- Ensure platform integrity and compliance with our Terms of Service
When support personnel access your account, the following safeguards are in place:
- Financial data is hidden — all monetary values, trade amounts, balances, quantities, and prices are masked and not visible to support personnel
- Read-only access — support personnel cannot make changes to your account, execute trades, or modify your data
- Time-limited sessions — support access sessions automatically expire after 30 minutes
- Full audit trail — every support access session is logged, including who accessed your account and when
- You will be notified — you receive an in-app notification and email whenever your account is accessed by support
We rely on our legitimate interest in providing effective customer support and maintaining platform security as the legal basis for this processing (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). You may request information about support access to your account by contacting us at [email protected].
7. Data Ownership and Export
All data entered into TraderNest remains your property. You may export your data at any time using the available export features in your account settings, or by contacting support.
8. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep you logged in
- Remember your preferences
- Analyze usage patterns
We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes. You can control cookie usage through your browser settings.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal and trading data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service or as required by law. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.
Analytics data retention periods:
- Authentication events (login, logout): 180 days
- Product usage events (trade creation, insights): 90 days
- Aggregated, anonymized statistics: retained indefinitely for product improvement
You can request deletion of your analytics data at any time by contacting support.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:
- Encrypted data storage and transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure password hashing using Argon2id
- Brute-force protection with account lockout
- Secure session management with HttpOnly cookies
- Access controls and monitoring
No system is completely secure, but we continuously work to protect your information.
11. Your Rights (GDPR)
TraderNest extends GDPR-level privacy protections to all users worldwide, regardless of your country of residence. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable laws, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent where applicable
- Object to certain processing activities
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

13. Third-Party Services
TraderNest integrates with the following third-party services:
- Stripe – Payment processing and subscription management
- Resend – Transactional emails (verification, password reset)
- OpenAI / Google AI – AI-powered insights and coaching
- Exchange APIs (Binance, MEXC, ByBit, OKX, Bitget) – Trade synchronization
These services have their own privacy policies, and TraderNest is not responsible for their practices.
14. Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your personal data may be transferred to the relevant third party as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on our platform of any change in ownership or use of your personal data, as well as any choices you may have regarding your data.
15. Children's Privacy
TraderNest is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a minor, we will take steps to delete that information.
