Team Workspaces

Team Workspaces are a specialized feature designed for prop firms, trading teams, and organized study groups that need shared analytics, centralized management, and team-level performance tracking. While communities are social spaces for discussion and accountability, Team Workspaces are structured environments for professional team management.

What Are Team Workspaces?

A Team Workspace is a shared environment within TraderNest where a team leader or manager can:

  1. See all team members' performance dashboards in one centralized view.
  2. Track team-level metrics like average win rate, total team P&L, discipline compliance, and individual improvement trajectories.
  3. Set team-wide rules and strategies that apply to all members, with automatic compliance tracking.
  4. Generate team reports for performance reviews, risk assessment, or investor updates.
  5. Run team sprints and challenges with leaderboard tracking.

Team Workspaces vs. Communities

It is important to understand the difference:

  1. Communities are social and peer-oriented. Members share voluntarily. There is no hierarchy. Performance data is anonymized by default.
  2. Team Workspaces are professional and manager-oriented. The team manager has visibility into member performance. There is a clear hierarchy (manager/member). Data transparency is expected as part of the team agreement.

Many organizations use both: a community for social interaction and a Team Workspace for performance management.

Who Uses Team Workspaces?

  1. Proprietary trading firms (prop firms) — Risk managers can monitor trader discipline, identify problematic patterns across the team, and ensure compliance with firm risk rules.
  2. Trading teams — Groups of traders who share capital or strategies and need to coordinate risk management.
  3. Study groups — Groups of traders who are learning together and want structured tracking of their improvement.
  4. Mentors with multiple mentees — A mentor who works with several traders and needs to review each person's progress efficiently.

How to Create a Team Workspace

1

Navigate to Settings

Go to Settings in the left sidebar, then select the Team tab.

2

Create a Workspace

Click Create Team Workspace. Enter a name for your workspace (e.g., "Alpha Trading Desk" or "Prop Fund Team A") and an optional description.

3

Configure Workspace Settings

Set up the workspace parameters:

  1. Risk rules — Define team-wide risk management rules (e.g., max 2% risk per trade, max 5 trades per day, no trading during news events). These rules will be tracked for every team member.
  2. Metrics to track — Choose which performance metrics appear on the team dashboard.
  3. Reporting frequency — Set how often team reports are generated (daily, weekly, or monthly).
  4. Visibility — Decide whether team members can see each other's data or only the manager can.
4

Invite Team Members

Add team members by email or by sharing an invite link. When members accept the invitation, they grant the workspace manager view access to their performance data within TraderNest.

The Team Dashboard

As a workspace manager, you have access to a dedicated team dashboard that shows:

  1. Team overview cards — Aggregated team metrics: total trades, average win rate, average profit factor, team P&L, and discipline score.
  2. Member performance table — A sortable table showing each member's key metrics side by side. Click on any member to drill down into their individual dashboard.
  3. Team heatmap — A visual representation of which team members are performing well (green) and which need attention (red) across different metrics.
  4. Risk compliance tracker — Shows which team members are adhering to the team's risk rules and which are violating them, with specific violation details.
  5. Improvement trends — Line charts showing how each team member's key metrics have changed over the past 30, 60, and 90 days.

Team Reports

Team Workspaces can generate periodic reports that summarize:

  1. Team-wide performance for the reporting period
  2. Individual member highlights and concerns
  3. Risk rule compliance rates
  4. Pattern detection summaries (most common behavioral issues across the team)
  5. Improvement recommendations from AI Hawk

Reports can be exported as PDF or viewed directly in TraderNest. They are useful for team meetings, performance reviews, and investor updates.

Tip for prop firms: Use the risk compliance tracker as an early warning system. If a trader starts violating risk rules, you can address it before it leads to significant losses. Prevention is far cheaper than recovery.

Managing Team Members

As a workspace manager, you can:

  1. Add or remove members at any time.
  2. Set member roles — Manager (full access) or Member (sees own data only, unless visibility settings allow team-wide view).
  3. Review individual performance by clicking on a member's name in the team table to open their full dashboard.
  4. Send feedback directly to a team member through TraderNest based on their performance data.
Important: Team Workspaces are available exclusively on the Advanced plan ($39.95/month). Team members need at least a Starter plan. For large teams or prop firms requiring custom configurations, contact us about the Enterprise plan for volume pricing and dedicated support.
