Account Settings
Your Account Settings page is where you manage everything related to your TraderNest account: personal information, security, notifications, display preferences, and more. This guide walks you through every setting available.
How to Access Account Settings
Click Settings in the left sidebar of your TraderNest dashboard. The Settings page has several tabs: Profile, Security, Preferences, Exchanges, Billing, and Team (Advanced plan only).
Profile Settings
Changing Your Email Address
Open Profile Settings
Go to Settings → Profile.
Update Your Email
Click the email field, clear the current email, and enter your new email address.
Verify the New Email
Click Save Changes. A verification email will be sent to your new email address. Click the verification link in the email to confirm the change. Your old email will remain active until the new one is verified.
Changing Your Display Name
Your display name is shown in communities and on leaderboards (if you choose to display it). To change it, go to Settings → Profile, update the Display Name field, and click Save Changes.
Security Settings
Changing Your Password
Open Security Settings
Go to Settings → Security.
Enter Current Password
In the Change Password section, enter your current password in the first field.
Enter New Password
Enter your new password and confirm it in the second field. Your password must be at least 8 characters and should include a mix of upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
Save Changes
Click Update Password. You will remain logged in on your current device. Other active sessions will be logged out for security.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
For additional security, you can enable two-factor authentication:
- Go to Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication.
- Click Enable 2FA.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, or similar).
- Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app to confirm.
- Save the backup codes provided — store them somewhere safe in case you lose access to your authenticator app.
Once enabled, you will need to enter a 6-digit code from your authenticator app every time you log in.
Preference Settings
Currency Settings
By default, TraderNest displays P&L in USDT (the native currency of most crypto futures exchanges). You can change the display currency in Settings → Preferences → Display Currency. Available options include USD, EUR, GBP, and USDT.
Changing the display currency does not convert your actual trade data — it applies an approximate conversion rate for display purposes. The underlying data remains in the original trading currency.
Date and Time Format
Choose your preferred date format:
- MM/DD/YYYY (US format)
- DD/MM/YYYY (European format)
- YYYY-MM-DD (ISO format)
You can also set your timezone. This affects how trade timestamps are displayed and how the "P&L by Hour" analysis groups your trades.
Fee Tracking
TraderNest tracks trading fees as part of your P&L by default. You can configure how fees are handled in Settings → Preferences → Fee Settings:
- Include fees in P&L (default) — Your P&L numbers include all fees (maker, taker, funding).
- Exclude fees from P&L — P&L is shown before fees. Useful if you want to see raw trade performance separately.
- Show fees separately — P&L is shown after fees, but with a separate fee column visible in the trade table.
Notification Preferences
Control which notifications you receive and how in Settings → Preferences → Notifications:
- Email notifications — Toggle on/off for: sync errors, payment receipts, AI Hawk alerts (Advanced), weekly summary reports.
- Browser push notifications — Toggle on/off for: AI Hawk alerts (Advanced), sync completion notifications.
- In-app notifications — Always on. These appear as a notification badge in the top navigation bar.
Dark Mode / Light Mode
Toggle between dark and light mode using the theme toggle in the top navigation bar, or set your preference in Settings → Preferences → Theme. You can also choose "System" to match your operating system's theme setting.
Deleting Your Account
If you want to permanently delete your TraderNest account and all associated data:
Cancel Any Active Subscription
If you have an active paid subscription, cancel it first in Settings → Billing.
Request Account Deletion
Go to Settings → Profile → scroll to the bottom → click Delete Account.
Confirm Deletion
Enter your password to confirm. You will see a final warning that this action is irreversible.
Data Removal
All your data (trades, strategies, patterns, notes, screenshots) will be permanently deleted within 30 days. During this 30-day window, you can contact [email protected] to reverse the deletion request.
